We need your help.
Most of you know Zoe, a bright and lively girl who lives in Brisbane. Most of you also know about the recent disaster zone that Brisbane has become. Parts of our city have literally been destroyed by masses and masses of water that have inundated our homes, businesses and streets.
This is Zoe. You can’t see Zoe’s house in this photograph because it is under water. It is going to cost Zoe and her father a fortune to repair the damage that has been caused to their home. Zoe’s father, at the age of 60, is working a difficult full time job to support her. Unfortunately they have lost everything, literally. Their insurance does not cover flood damage.
I know Zoe, so this entire thing has really hit me hard. I cannot imagine what it’d be like for her and her father. I want to do something for Zoe personally and I know that everyone who knows her does as well. I have set up a donation button on PayPal which is linked to my account. I plan on giving all money donated to Zoe as soon as possible. A lot of you have already donated to the Flood Appeal which I completely understand and condone. To be honest, I’ve created this because I want to ensure that Zoe and her father directly receive money to help them rebuild.
To put the donation button on your tumblr, please copy and paste the code which I have secured underneath a ‘read more’ link. Reblog this if you can. Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope to see Zoe and her father smiling sometime soon.
So imagine my slight embarrassment in contacting some old friends of mine for the first time in a while to ask if they were alright, only to get a couple of small remarks about my poor geography skills. They’re all alright and the one person I was most worried about is actually far north of the flooding and is perfectly fine.
And I’m very thankful for that. But then I see stuff like this and can’t help but feel gutted, this is so awful. Please reblog even if you can’t give a few dollars.
All the best, Zoe.
